Sandpiper Property Mgt is Hiring a Regional Director of Sales - CA, NY, VA Near Richmond, VA

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for supporting the property-based Director of Sales/Sales Manager to implement sales strategies that will continuously improve market share and profitability for each hotel in the portfolio. This individual will be responsible for business development of the portfolio as well as ensuring sales activities support the overall strategic plan to produce performance results. The assigned region: VA, NY, CA. Candidate based on East Coast preferred.

Essential Job Functions:

•Strategize and oversee execution of sales and marketing effort of assigned hotels.

•Assist with preparation and analysis of budgets.

•Assist with current and potential account management.

•Coordinate and develop the individual sales & marketing plans for each hotel with the on-property sales teams.

•Stay informed of competition and industry developments.

•Analyze hotel revenue and forecast reports.

•Work in conjunction with Vice President - Sales & Marketing, Regional Operations Managers and Revenue Managers to achieve revenue goals.

•Guide in the creation and implementation of strategic marketing initiatives with Sales Directors/Managers.

•Train and mentor Sales Directors/Managers as required.

•Administer quarterly action plans and monitor sales productivity.

•Work with Vice President - Sales & Marketing to implement digital marketing strategies, regional and national advertising and media placement.

•Travel as necessary with Sales Directors/Managers to enhance their marketing skills.

•Mentor, coach, and assist as necessary, assigned Sales teams, to ensure their success.

•Supervise franchise sales initiatives.

•Represent properties at Trade Shows and annual franchise conferences and sales blitzes with on-property sales team as necessary.

•Prospect and solicit new and existing accounts to meet/exceed revenue goals through telephone solicitation, outside sales calls, site inspections and written communication.

•Develop new business for the hotel portfolio through lead generation, cold calling and other business development measures.

•Creatively manage proactive sales and marketing efforts for assigned portfolio. Keen focus on business development for creating new incremental business for maximum hotel sales generation and optimal revenue growth.

Requirements of the Role:

Travel is required to assigned region: VA, NY, CA. Candidate based on East Coast preferred.

•Choice Brand experience preferred.

•Experience in complex market sales is required.

•Experience in working with senior management to align sales strategies and solutions across multiple markets.

•Must have experience of working in a corporate/business focused environment.

•Excellent negotiation skills, proven track record of successfully pitching for new business.

•Proven track record of increasing revenue through generation of leads at both hotel level and organizational level.

•Must have experience of successfully developing, implementing and benefiting from organizational sales strategies.

•Proven track record of achieving sales goals.

Education: 

•Undergraduate degree in Business Management, Economics, Marketing, or other business-related field preferred. 

Experience: •3 - 5 years of experience in a management or leadership role (hospitality, retail, food service preferred), Desired candidate would have 3-4 years’ work experience in a hospitality sales experience

Knowledge:•General understanding of common office procedures

•Basic business management practices 

Skills:•Must be able to read, write, and speak English proficiently

•Intermediate computer operation including but not limited to accessing data from the internet

•Effective communication with staff and guests

•Effective conflict management

•Effective negotiation and sales skills

Abilities:•Read, comprehend, and follow written procedures

•Respond calmly in situations of conflict and stress

•Adapt to changes in daily work

•Problem solve in a timely manner
