Sandia Resort And Casino is Hiring an ADMIN ASST-PROJECT MANAGEMENT Near Albuquerque, NM

Position Summary

Under the direct supervision of the Director of Project Management performs activities in support of the Department.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Receives telephone calls and visitors, determines nature of calls and visitor requests and directs to appropriate staff or provides information on routine matters.
  • Implements office administrative procedures and practices.
  • Types and reviews correspondence, reports, memos and other materials from rough or advanced draft.
  • Files and retrieves information manually and/or from a computer records storage system following established office procedures.
  • Sorts, distributes and opens mail, and prepares, sends and retrieves FAX documents.
  • Photocopies and assembles materials for distribution.
  • Runs errands for the Director of Project Management and/or delivers documents to specific locations.
  • Schedules and confirms appointments, coordinates location and assembles necessary documents.
  • Ability to follow verbal instructions.
  • Ability to meet office deadlines
  • Maintains office equipment in proper working order.
  • Runs errands for staff; delivers documents to specific locations
  • Orders office supplies and prepares requisitions for staff supplies.
  • Maintains employees’ time card information in KRONOS ensuring employees receive correct compensation.
  • Performs additional duties and responsibilities as necessary or assigned.

  • Ability to type at least 40 wpm accurately.
  • Ability to use efficient oral and written communication skills and proper use of grammar.

  • Ability to record and transcribe minutes at meetings.
  • Ability to operate a multi-line telephone system.
  • Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to deal effectively with the public.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently.
  • Ability to exercise own initiative and good judgment in daily activities.
  • Ability to file; use a computer terminal and standard office machines.
  • Ability to work efficiently and accurately in an atmosphere of frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to exercise tact, courtesy, and initiative in handling routine problems.
  • Ability to process a large volume of routine to complex correspondence.
  • Knowledge of general office methods, procedures, and equipment to include office filing systems.
  • Knowledge of Tribal policies, procedures, and operations desirable.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and various database software packages.
  • Ability to exercise sound personal management practices and exhibit a strong motivational commitment to the organization.

Minimum Qualifications, Education and Experience

Required:

  • High School Diploma, GED Certification or equivalent.
  • Two (2) years’ experience in an increasingly responsible position in an office/clerical management position.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid, unrestricted New Mexico Driver’s License.

Licensing Status

  • Must be able to successfully pass a stringent background investigation.
  • Will require a post-offer, pre-employment and random drug screening.

Working Conditions

  • Work is performed indoors.
  • Work hours subject to change with overtime work required.
  • Must be able to work long hours under stressful conditions.
  • Subject to hazards, which may cause personal bodily harm: smoke, common colds, influenza, dust, odors and elevated noise levels.
  • Tasks may be performed on uneven, inclined, hard and soft carpeted floors, cement structures and surfaces.
  • Duties may involve walking, standing for long periods of time, sitting and crouching.
  • Specific required movements include the following:
  • Trunk-bend, twists rotate, push, pull, carry
  • Arms-reach, carry, push, pull, lift, twist, rotate
  • Legs-lift, push, pull, twists, rotate
  • Hands-grasp, manipulates, bilateral coordination, eye and hand coordination, overall and finger dexterity.
