General Purpose:

Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort is looking for a project manager for new developments and renovations. The ideal candidate will harbor a passion for construction and devote his or her time to our projects. The Project Manager oversees the project from beginning to end, including; pre-construction, budget, costs, schedule, risk management, insurance, general performance and quality, and overall progress against the plan, interfacing with both construction professionals and ownership. This position will be both on the job site and in office. The position includes benefits, competitive salary, 401K matching and paid time off. The job includes both hands-on and administrative duties.

Essential Duties:

  • Provides “boots on the ground” supervision for real estate development projects in Sandestin
  • Coordinates with the SOA, Contractor and Security for any and all job-related needs, such as bringing equipment on the resort or requesting to work outside regular contractor hours
  • Attends weekly OAC meetings as Owner’s Rep
  • Sits in on other Development meetings as needed
  • Confers with supervisors or other managers to monitor construction progress, including worker productivity and compliance with building and safety codes
  • Resolves problems that arise due to inclement weather, emergencies or other issues that may cause delays
  • Able to distinguish that the construction work is being done in accordance with plans and specs
  • Sends regular updates to Development Updates distribution lists when milestones occur on job site
  • Monitors contractors and sub-contractors for quality control
  • Reviews change orders and ensures they are accurate and comply with change requests
  • Responsible for accounting functions including managing the budget, tracking expenses and minimizing exposure and risk.
  • Ensures that construction activities move according to pre-determined schedule.
  • Collaborates with engineers, architects, contractors, and other trade professionals
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

  • A four-year Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or construction management
  • Minimum of 5 years of project management experience. Condominium and hotel experience preferred.
  • Must have new ground-up construction experience.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Must be a self-starter with a collaborative spirit.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong project management skills, results-driven, with ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Thorough knowledge of legal issues and safety standards is essential.
  • Proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Office and construction management software.

Basic Required Skills:

  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
  • Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process.
  • Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.

Physical Demands:

  • Most work tasks are performed outdoors on various job sites as well as in the office
  • Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 6 hours in length.
  • Must be able to exert well-paced ability in limited space.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, and climb ladder as needed for inspections
  • Must be able to exert a well-paced ability to maneuver between functions occurring simultaneously.
  • Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability, and visual acuity.
  • Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with contractors, supervisors, project managers and other employees
  • Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.
  • Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment
