Overview: Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort, a premier destination on Florida's Emerald Coast, is seeking an experienced Banquet Setup Manager to lead our banquet setup team. The ideal candidate will oversee the setup and breakdown of furniture and décor for various events including conferences, weddings, and corporate gatherings, ensuring that each event space is perfectly arranged according to client specifications and Sandestin's high standards.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and supervise the setup and breakdown of banquet furniture (tables, chairs, staging, etc.), including layout plans and design specifics.
• Manage a team of banquet setup crew members, scheduling shifts, assigning tasks, and ensuring timely completion of setups.
• Train and mentor team members in proper setup techniques, safety protocols, and customer service.
• Work closely with the banquet sales and catering departments to understand event requirements and client expectations.
• Conduct inspections of banquet rooms and other event spaces to ensure arrangements meet Sandestin standards and client satisfaction.
• Maintain inventory of all banquet furnishings and supplies, and coordinate maintenance and repairs as needed.
• Develop standard operating procedures for the setup team to enhance efficiency and quality of service.
• Handle logistical challenges and make real-time decisions to resolve issues during event preparations.
• Ensure compliance with all safety and sanitation guidelines.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time, often exceeding 8 hours.
• Capable of bending, kneeling, and reaching with efficiency during event setups and breakdowns.
• Comfortable working in a variety of weather conditions, as events may be hosted outdoors or in non-climate-controlled spaces.
• Ability to climb ladders and work at heights when required.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma required; degree in hospitality or event management preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in banquet setup or event planning, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage a diverse team.
• Excellent time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Proven ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing environments.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to coordinate with multiple departments.
