Sanders Brother Construction is currently seeking A Scale Operator to work at our recycling facility in North Charleston, SC. Scale House Operator would support Sanders Brothers’ Asphalt plant and crusher yard operations The Asphalt Plant and Crusher Yard are a critical component to Sanders Brother’s 50 years of success in the asphalt paving industry and requires dedicated workers to ensure productivity. The Scale House Operator will be responsible for operating truck and heavy equipment scales to ensure weight accuracies of materials ordered and received.

Role and Responsibilities

• Operates truck and heavy equipment scales to ensure weight accuracies of materials ordered and received.
• Completes financial transaction requiring use of credit card machine.
• May operate loader to supply materials to customers.
• Receive demolition materials from various sources requiring inspection to ensure accuracy of materials prior to receipt.
• Maintain control over company property and direct customers and hauling vehicles.
• Work in varying weather conditions and work environments including dusty, wet, loud noises, etc.
• Keep company vehicle, property and equipment clean and orderly, informing management of any safety concerns or problems.
• Comply with all SBCC policies, procedures and safety requirements.
• Perform any other general duties as specified.
• Follow all DHEC requirements for crushing operation.
• Assist in Plant Preventative Maintenance plan.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• High School diploma or its equivalent is required.
• Experience operating truck/equipment scale.
• Requires solid knowledge and understanding of proper scale operation and capabilities of the equipment.
• Must be able to recognize various products by sight and to understand proper plant procedures for movement, receipt, sale, and loading of materials.
• Lift plant components up to 50 pounds
• Must have the ability to stand, kneel or sit for long periods of time.
• Possess basic computer skills
• Basic math i.e. the ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and find percentages are required.
• Must be able to interact with customers including financial transactions.
• Must obtain a negative drug test result prior to hire and maintain throughout term of employment.
• Must meet SBCC's employment standards with regards to background checks.
• Flexible availability to include overtime, possible weekends.
• Work environments will vary making it necessary to tolerate weather conditions, such as rain and extreme temperatures. Employees may be exposed to dust, dirt, varying temperatures, loud noises, etc.

All candidates must pass background prescreen and pre-employment drug test.
