SUMMARY

The State and Local Business Development Vice President will assist the efforts of growth and management of Sanborn State and Local government opportunities and customers for all our product and services. This position is envisioned to generate sales leads by networking and building strategic relationships. They will also support responses to Requests for Proposals (RFP's) and Requests for Quotations (RFQ's) & bids with strategy and customer insight. The State and Local Business Development Vice President will work with the regional sales and operational staff to ensure customers' needs and expectations are met and will report to and work directly with the Executive VP Strategy and Business Development to increase sales growth and margin in the government sector.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Use CRM tool, and related software to report and track client status, opportunities, and wins
  • Organize and deliver effective business development presentations to clients and prospective clients.
  • Coordinate liaison between regional sales and new first-time customers as well as monitor existing state and local government customers.
  • Generate leads.
  • Support the strategy and preparation of documentation to respond to RFQ/RFPs
  • Assist in determining pricing schedules for quotes, promotions, and negotiations.
  • Coordinate sales efforts with marketing programs.
  • Visit clients and potential clients to evaluate needs, promote products and services, and strengthen relationships
  • Respond to client questions within the scope of the position.
  • Build collaborative relationships with clients, engage active listening and adapt messaging of Sanborn Geospatial capabilities to achieve a long-term win/win solution.
  • Facilitate and coordinate win strategies and proposal schedules with appropriate Sales, Program Management, and Operations personnel to meet milestones.
  • Operate effectively in an environment with occasional changes in standards, routines and practices, requiring some adaptation. Must handle change constructively.
  • Maintain a high level of integrity in communication both verbally and in writing, with internal staff and external customers, vendors, managers, and outside entities.
  • Support and review strategic plan services for State and Local Government Clients
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Primary requirement is previous experience as a state Geographic Information Officer (GIO) or have been acting in the position as representing the functions of a GIO.
  • The individual must have experience and a demonstrated ability in understanding the geospatial processes within state government including supporting other state agencies, funding, state government processes, data dissemination, geospatial requirements processes and approvals.
  • Must be detail oriented and have the ability to multi[1]task and maintain organization in a changing environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication leadership and motivational skills with a strong commitment to quality required.

EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree in English, Marketing, Business Administration, Communication or equivalent field. 5-7 years of direct geospatial experience.

Annual Salary Range - $120,000 to $150,000
