San Luis Valley Health is seeking a full-time RN to work as a Charge Nurse at our Conejos County Hospital! This position will direct and supervise nursing staff to deliver nursing care within the scope of practice, ensure patient's needs are met in accordance with the standards of nursing, and promotes excellence in clinical practice. 

What You'll Need: 

  • One year of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Current active Colorado Registered Nurse license. 
  • Display understanding of regulatory requirements. 
  • Current active BLS, ALS, PALS certifications.

What You'll Do: 

  • Implementing, and evaluating the delivery of care according to accepted nursing and hospital standards of care.
  • Provides feedback for policies and procedures and consistently enforces policies.
  • Participates in environment of care rounds on a monthly basis during night shift. Understands the Conditions of Participation and regulatory expectations and holds staff to these standards.
  • Assists Director of Nursing as needed and nursing leadership in coordinating charge nurse duties and expectations.
  • Responsible for compliance of regulatory standards within Medical Surgical unit.
  • Attends and participates in various committee meeting as assigned by Director of Nursing on a monthly basis and relays information from that meeting back to nursing staff.
  • Assists with all activities related to Performance Improvement and Patient Safety Initiatives and relays information as appropriate. Responsible for at least one PDSA, managing process, sharing results with staff, and submitting data on shared drive.
  • Responsible for ensuring patient satisfaction initiatives are performed consistently to improve and sustain scores.
