JK-8 Art Teacher

We are currently seeking a creative individual to fill the JK-8 Art Teacher role. This position is
part-time (0.3-0.4 FTE) with the schedule to be determined. The typical schedule for JK-5th
grade Art is once per week per grade, and the Middle School Art elective is 3 times per week
when the elective is offered. SJCS has an art room and provides art supplies. We use the Deep
Space Sparkle curriculum which is mapped out for each grade level. Below you will find the

Preferred Qualifications:

• B.A. Elementary Education and/or Art Education
• Personal testimony and commitment to Christian faith
• Commitment to the SJCS Statement of Faith, SJCS mission, and SJCS core values
• Commitment to faith integration (SJCS Throughlines) in all lessons and roles
• Classroom teaching experience (including student teaching)

Job Description Summary:

• Model an exemplary Christian walk in speech and action.
• Treat each child as uniquely gifted by God.
• Implement curriculum as documented in SJCS Curriculum Trak.
• Integrate Throughlines in all lessons and roles.
• Incorporate 21st century skills including communication, collaboration, critical thinking,

and creativity

• Assess student artwork using rubrics according to standards and learner outcomes;

• Employ effective classroom management strategies and techniques.
• Discipline all students fairly and firmly.
• Encourage all students.
• Participate in professional development as assigned by SJCS administration.
• Deliver professional, timely communication to faculty, parents, and students including

supplies and materials.

Salary Range: $20-$30 per hour
