Description

The San Francisco Conservatory of Music is looking for reliable part-time Production Associates to work in conjunction as members of our full-time production team. Incumbents will lead teams of student workers and take directions for all aspects of day-to-day Production Department concert, rehearsal, and classroom operations. We anticipate this position will require 20 to 25 hours per week.

Job Duties

• Act as an on-call resource and point person for student workers; fielding questions from students and faculty about schedules and available equipment/resources
• Assist Production Department Staff members with set-up, strike, and back-of-house operations for classes, rehearsals, and concerts
• Manage BOH and FOH operations for concerts, acting as stage manager or house manager as needed
• Take direction from the Large Ensemble staff for all Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, and other Large Ensemble set-ups for rehearsals and performances
• Set up classrooms and performance spaces independently, and/or supervise student workers as they do the same
• Collate information from multiple sources to identify and troubleshoot scheduling discrepancies
• Help to ensure consistency and quality of work for the department and school as a whole
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Must be able to lift heavy equipment safely (50 lbs)
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to clearly and promptly communicate with team members, students & faculty
• Ability to both lead projects and take direction
• Strong attention to detail
• Flexible hours; ability to work frequent nights/weekends for concerts/events
• Background in event/concert production required
• Familiarity with ClickUp, Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Calendar), and/or other task management software preferred

Compensation

The rate of pay will range from $23-$25 per hour DOE. Hours will vary, up to 25 hours per week.
