San Diego Unified School District is Hiring a Health Services Case Worker I - Bilingual (English/Spanish) Near San Diego, CA

Description

The Health Services Case Worker I - Bilingual (English/Spanish) determines eligibility of clients for services, assesses needs of referred pupils or pregnant adolescents and their families, develops a care plan, and arranges community services to meet client needs.

Scheduled for 40 hours per week, 12 months per year, and qualifies for District paid health and wellness benefits for the employee and eligible dependents. Work hours are 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

This recruitment opportunity requires the incumbent to be Bilingual in English/Spanish.

    • For a promotional/open posting, the top ten internal applicants will be provided unless there is an insufficient number and then the list will be supplemented with the top external applicants to make up the ten (Employment Regulations for the Classified Service of the San Diego Unified School District: Article 2, Section 9)

Minimum Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Any combination of training, experience, and/or education equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university with a degree in social sciences, health services, or a related field, and one year of recent progressively responsible, related experience of acceptable level and quality, working in the community with a social service or health care agency.
LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Possession of a valid California driver’s license and availability of private transportation (mileage expense allowance provided).
Proof of valid automobile liability insurance is required for designated positions to transport pupils or parents and to make home visits.

    • Internship or Volunteer Experience
      • Unpaid work experience may be included but DOES NOT satisfy the minimum experience required to qualify for a position.

EXAMINATION PROCESS:
The examination process will consist of an application screening based on the candidate's education, work history and responses to the supplemental questions. Candidates who pass the application screening will be invited to a written exam.
Applicants who pass the examination process for the position will be placed on an Eligible List. The Eligible List will be used to fill vacancies at various sites.
