San Bernardino County is recruiting for a highly experienced Child Support Services professional to serve as the next Assistant Director of Child Support Services. This is an exciting opportunity to direct the operations of a well-run and successful Department of Child Support Services (DCSS). The ideal candidate will be a progressive, highly experienced professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced and complex environment.
With a staff of over 520 full-time employees and budget of $61 million for fiscal year 2023-2024, this is an exciting opportunity for an energetic and visionary servant leader to provide continuity and strategic direction to the department and continue to focus on its mission to improve the lives of children, assist parents in meeting their responsibilities to support them, and meet the needs of the families served while treating all parties with dignity and respect.
OUTSTANDING SALARY AND BENEFITS
The County offers a generous benefit package which includes a competitive salary commensurate with experience within the designated salary range of 85C: $140,712.00 - $201,947.20 Annually, plus 3% annual across the board salary increases on February 2025 and 2026.

Education & Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in business or public administration, psychology, sociology, human services, or a closely related field
• Extensive management experience in a large organization that includes in-depth knowledge of government programs at the federal, state, or local levels; and
• Management experience in a Child Support Agency
San Bernardino County may consider a combination of experience and education that would provide the knowledge and skills to successfully perform the functions of the position.
