Job Description
Position Summary:
The Program Assistant will perform a variety of duties related to the environmental and occupational health, emergency planning, and loss control management programs and activities of the San Bernardino Community College District.
Representative Duties:
  • Assists the Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) Administrator in conducting COVID-19 contact tracing per the San Bernardino Community College District's (SBCCD) COVID-19 response program protocols
  • Communicates with COVID-19 cases through email and telephone in a professional and empathetic manner
  • Protect and maintain individual privacy and confidentiality
  • Manage and maintain COVID-19 contact tracing data log
  • Assists in the administration of the Ergonomics Program as directed by the EH&S Administrator
  • Responds to employee inquiries regarding ergonomic evaluations;
  • Schedules ergonomic evaluations with the ergonomist
  • Assist in procuring ergonomic equipment by obtaining quotes from vendors; prepares purchase requisitions for ergonomic equipment
  • Assists in the administration of the Training Program as directed by the EH&S Administrator;
  • Responds to employee inquiries regarding the district online training database
  • Updates the online training database as needed; prepares training completion reports
  • Updates and manages training schedules
  • Updates training presentations as needed
  • Assists with the inspection on the district's automated external defibrillators (AEDs) per SBCCD protocol
  • Organizes and archives records and documents
  • Performs other related duties as needed
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Requirements:
  • Associate Degree or higher
  • Have a valid driver's license and proof of insurance for their vehicle.
    Desired Qualifications:
  • Having an educational background in Environmental Health and Safety.
  • Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or Business
  • Experience in website design and development
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to learn and utilize sophisticated and specialized software programs and learning management systems
  • Can communicate with employees via email and telephone in a time and professional manner
    Physical Demands and Working Environment
    PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
    Environment: Work is performed primarily in a standard office setting. Occasional exposure to risks controlled by safety precautions.
    Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push , and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight up to 50 pounds; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard, and to verbally communicate to exchange information.
    Vision: See in the normal visual range with or without correction; vision sufficient to read computer screens and printed documents; and to operate assigned equipment.
    Hearing: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction
