San Antonio Spurs is Hiring an Associate Director of Facility Operations Near San Antonio, TX

Overview

The person in this role will play an essential role in enhancing and maintaining the venue’s core system functions to include oversight of maintenance and operations activities, budget management, and team leadership. Responsibilities

1. Oversee all services and activities involved in the maintenance and operations of assigned facility(s) including but not limited to: HVAC, IAQ, fire systems, vertical transportation, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing equipment, finishes, surfaces, structure, building envelope, grounds, and landscaping.

2. Provide effective leadership to the Facility Operation team by developing a high-performance culture through championing best practices, internal & external customer responsiveness, relationship building, professional development, and inclusion.

3. Foster a culture of safety and accountability. Assess critical risk areas and develop/maintain appropriate contingency plans. Maintain open lines of communication with local AHJs (authorities having jurisdiction).

4. Assist in the review of contracts for compliance for all contractors and third-party vendors. Maintain and develop vendor relationships.

5. Manage department budgets maintaining a regular cadence of projections, reviewing capital/R&R expenditures, and assisting in the development of annual budgets.

6. Maintain an inventory control system and purchase supplies, parts, and equipment through the established bid or price quote process.

7. Other Duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Advanced Degree in a related field, or related equivalent experience or equivalent training and experience in lieu of degree. (Minimum 7 years will be considered, 9 years is preferred.)
  • Minimum of (7) seven years’ leadership experience, with at least (2) two years in a Senior manager level role.
  • Facility experience with professional sport team(s) and concerts preferred. Large hotels, convention centers, commercial office or military base experience will be considered.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Power Point, and other computer skills required.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and support multiple high-level positions.
  • Working knowledge of operational characteristics, services and activities of public facility operations and maintenance programs.
  • Experience with BAS (building automation systems), CMMS (computerized maintenance management systems), and Power monitoring systems preferred.
  • Working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • Working knowledge of Fire, Life Safety, EEOC, FLSA, OSHA and ADA rules and regulations.
  • Ability to document and communicate in terms of liability, indemnity, and insurance.
  • Demonstrate poise, tact, and diplomacy.
  • Strong teamwork aptitude required.
  • Strong customer service skills required.
  • Clear and concise oral and written communication skills.
  • The ability to work independently and coordinate multiple tasks.
  • Must have a flexible schedule and the ability to work long hours, including overnights, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Stand/Sit/Walk for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift/push/pull 75 lbs. on a regular basis
  • 10% of job able to be performed remotely/90% of work needed to be performed onsite as needed.
