Responsibilities

  • Supervise and provide guidance to junior electrical Controls engineer, supporting their professional development and fostering a culture of learning within the team.
  • Lead the design and development of electrical control systems for manufacturing equipment and machinery, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
  • Develop and program PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) systems to automate processes, optimize efficiency, and enhance productivity.
  • Design and implement intuitive HMI interfaces for operators to monitor and control manufacturing processes effectively.
  • Provide technical support for troubleshooting electrical issues, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions to minimize downtime.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and efficiency enhancement through the implementation of advanced control strategies and automation technologies.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including electrical schematics, technical specifications, and operating procedures. Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead projects from conception to completion, including project planning, resource allocation, and timeline management. Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to achieve project goals.

Education and Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, or Automation Engineering
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in electrical controls and automation within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles, including circuit design, power distribution, and control systems.
  • Proficiency in PLC programming languages such as ladder logic, structured text, and function block diagram. A track record of proficiency in control systems, troubleshooting, and working in high intensity environments.
  • A willingness to travel for project requirements including installation and start-up activities, client and company sponsored meetings, trainings, industry related seminars, forums, and conventions.
  • Experience with industrial communication protocols such as Ethernet/IP, Modbus, and Profibus.
  • Familiarity with HMI programming and design principles.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, drawings, and technical manuals.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex electrical control systems.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement in all aspects of work.

  • Walking and standing for extended periods.
  • Frequent lifting of up to 65 pounds.
  • Frequent bending, squatting, stooping, and reaching.
  • Repetitive arm and upper body action and movement.
  • Exposure to dust, frequent loud noise, varying temperatures in the plant.
  • Occasionally climbing stairs.
