POSITION SUMMARY

The Continuous Improvement Specialist will be responsible for supporting and assisting the Continuous Improvement Manager in the organization, planning, implementation and follow-through of continuous improvement initiatives. The Continuous Improvement Specialist is an expert in continuous improvement processes who teaches and facilitates implementation of standard operational excellence methods and tools to deliver results in throughput, productivity, cost, and inventory and delivery performance. 

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough analyses of existing processes to identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline workflows and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Implement Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to optimize processes and eliminate waste.
  • Utilize statistical methods and data-driven insights to identify trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain performance metrics to measure the effectiveness of implemented changes.
  • Lead and facilitate continuous improvement projects to drive positive change throughout the organization.
  • Act as a catalyst for change by promoting a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Work closely with quality department to ensure that improvements do not compromise product or service quality.
  • Implement and monitor quality control measures to sustain improvements over time.
  • Provide training and support to employees on continuous improvement methodologies and tools.
  • Foster a culture of accountability and ownership among team members for continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of processes, changes, and improvements.
  • Generate regular reports on the status and impact of continuous improvement initiatives.

Education and Certifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Operations, Manufacturing, Engineering, or Business Management. 
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in manufacturing 
  •  Minimum of 1 years of experience in Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Proven experience as a Continuous Improvement Engineer or in a similar role.
  • Proficient in data analysis and statistical tools.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Continuous learning mindset and willingness to stay updated on industry best practices.

  • Ability to uses standard office equipment
  • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. periodically
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time 
  • Ability to use both arms and hands
  • Ability to bend and stoop frequently
