samsara is Hiring a Remote Senior People Technology Analyst - Workday (Payroll)

About the role:

As a key member of the People Technology & Operations team, you will be instrumental in the continued expansion and deployment of Workday functionality. You will partner with Samsara key stakeholders to implement streamlined operations processes and optimal technology solutions for our People Team programs. You are comfortable acting as an internal consultant to global HR and business stakeholders, and can showcase your experience in HR and Workday to develop lasting solutions that solve complex business challenges. Lastly, you are highly driven and bring demonstrated experience succeeding in high growth, fast-paced organizations.

This role is open to candidates residing in the US except the San Francisco Bay Area (125 mi. radius from 1 De Haro St, San Francisco) and NYC Metro Area (50 mi. radius from 131 W 55th St, New York).

In this role, you will: 

  • Support implementation of Workday Payroll for U.S. and international setup of Cloud Pay 
  • Support configuration for Workday Absence, Benefits, and Time Tracking as it relates to program policies and payroll processing.
  • Maintain payroll security configuration and assignments
  • Partner with Payroll and People Operations teams to solidify and document business requirements, applicable laws and regulations, and policies and process procedures
  • Scope and prioritize incoming technology fixes and enhancements for Workday.
  • Provide Tier 2 Workday support for payroll related inquiries. Triage and configure Workday enhancements or fixes for Workday Payroll and Cloud Pay integrations.
  • Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices

Minimum requirements for the role:

  • 6 years professional experience working for fast-growing, global companies
  • 4 years experience in Workday configuration and support for HR/Payroll teams
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience in implementing Payroll SaaS applications across U.S. and International locations
  • Experience in Workday business process configuration, security configuration & design, and organizational setup
  • Experience troubleshooting Payroll and Benefit integrations
  • Experience Workday Payroll, Absence, Time Tracking and Benefits
  • Experience writing and completing test scenarios for system implementations and enhancements
  • Strong understanding of HR/Payroll best practices, processes and compliance. Experience analyzing requirements and adjusting or changing to create the most optimal solution.
  • Ability to troubleshoot into Workday details to resolve issues quickly
  • Ability to prioritize workload and deliver enhancements or fixes on time without supervision. Provide accurate timelines, follow-up, and required documentation for change management

An ideal candidate also has:

  • Strong understanding of Compensation, Leaves, Benefits, and Time Tracking business processes and requirements
  • Familiar with Agile methodologies and prioritization.
  • Experience working with Jira, Zendesk, and other business applications integrating to Workday
