About the role:

Samsara’s People Team is growing and we are looking to add a People Partner with strategic HR Business Partner experience to our high-performing, inclusive team! This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate with strong partnering skills to deliver impactful solutions that accelerate company and employee growth. We are looking for a highly collaborative, execution-focused individual who will dig deep into how to support the business at scale (culture, leadership practices, organization, programs, among others). 

This role will report to the Director, People Partner R&D and will primarily provide People Partner support to leaders and managers within the Hardware Engineering and Operations functions, in addition to leading a few central projects. You will also have the opportunity to work cross-functionally with other People Partners and central people teams. In this role, you will: 

  • Partner with the Hardware Engineering and Operations teams as their people partner, in addition to leading a few central cross-functional projects. 
  • Establish yourself as a trusted partner for your client groups and collaborate with leaders on initiatives that create a positive employee experience throughout the employee lifecycle.
  • Lead teams in diverse analysis, inform strategic decisions; progress from medium to long-term planning; enhance stakeholder communication; and collaborate with partners.
  • Harmonize the varied foundational HR concepts to craft holistic HR strategies that address multiple facets of relevant function, ensuring alignment and effectiveness.
  • Leverage data for advocacy; leads projects towards desired outcomes; fosters continuous feedback in planning and decision-making.
  • Be proficient in driving change initiatives, leveraging data and communication skills to influence stakeholders and achieve desired outcomes.
  • Maintain cultural and DEI awareness based on department and locale, and incorporate into business strategies and solutions.
  • Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices

Minimum requirements for the role:

  • 8 years of general HR or Business/People Partner experience with a BA/BS degree OR 6 years with a Master’s degree; 3 years in a strategic HR business partner capacity
  • Willingness and ability to work Pacific Time Zone hours and be flexible as needed.
  • Experience using data to influence decisions at a senior leadership level.
  • Passion to act with a quick pace and urgency, yet balanced with a thoughtful, pragmatic, and outcome-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to facilitate sensitive situations with empathy while driving to resolution in the best interest of all parties.
  • Proven ability to manage sensitive information with utmost confidence and professionalism.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication that concisely, accurately, and tactfully delivers the message.
  • Excellent analytical skills, organization, attention to detail, and problem-solving acumen.

An ideal candidate also has:

  • Experience in a high-growth global tech company setting.
  • Educational degree with concentration(s) relating to human resources, business, law.
