SALARY: $17.37 per hour
GRADE: 64
DESCRIPTION OF WORK: Work involves receiving and dispatching emergency and non-emergency E911 calls for Sherriff, Police, Fire and EMS/Rescue as well as other related County services. Applicant must have the ability to deal tactfully with the public. NOTE: Rotating 12-hour shifts, nights, holidays and weekend work is required. Required Certifications or ability to obtain within 12 months: CPR, Emergency Medical Dispatch and certification by the State of North Carolina as a DCI Operator.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Preferred applicant will have relevant training beyond a high school diploma with experience in communication dispatch work which provides the necessary skills, knowledge, and abilities to function effectively as a Telecommunicator.
