Samaritan Health is Hiring an Unit Assistant Near Center, NY
Pay Range:Days: $15.50 - $17.11Evenings: $16.60 - $18.21 Nights: $17.00 – $18.61
Unit Assistant will be oriented to the following areas: Mother-Baby, Labor and Delivery Registration, Labor & Delivery OR, and Pediatrics.
- High school level of knowledge.
- Previous experience, nursing student or graduate from a nursing assistant program.
- Previous Maternity and/or medical surgical experience preferred.
- Computer experience preferred.
- Works effectively with others, possess tact, discretion and diplomacy.
- Ability to work under stress and complete duties sometimes with numerous interruptions.
- Must be able to write legibly and be able to document accurately, type of care given.
- Must be able to communicate information to supervisor and co-workers.
- May need to work beyond scheduled hours when necessary.
- Must be familiar with equipment used to move patients, take vital signs and document.
- Knowledge in the use of cleaning/sterilization/disinfection of equipment and instrumentation utilized in the clinical operating room setting.
- BLS certification required or obtained within 3 months of hire.
