Do you have previous experience as a Nurse’s Aide/Assistant, CNA, HHA, PCA, or a PCT? Have you completed Nursing Fundamentals and are looking for a way to kick start your nursing career? Consider our Nursing Assistant role. This position is in acute care (a hospital setting rather than a nursing home). You can choose either full-time (three 12-hours shifts a week), part time (three 12-hours shifts every two weeks), or casual (12-hour shifts but on-call). We have positions open in Med Surg, Rehab, PCU, and Nurse Float.
Either part-time or casual works well for nursing students as you will have plenty of time to commit to school while also increasing your patient care experience. You will also be working with a great team that will provide you mentorship toward your nursing career goals. Here are some details regarding the position:
Previous experience or graduated from a Nursing Assistant program preferred. Ability to document on medical records and patient care forms and understand printed health related material. Computer experience preferred. Works effectively with others, possess tact, discretion and diplomacy. Ability to work under stress and complete duties sometimes with numerous interruptions. Must be able to write legibly and be able to document, accurately, type of care given. Must be able to communicate information to supervisor and co-workers. Must be familiar with equipment used to move patients, take vital signs and document. Ability to understand printed health related material. BLS certification required or obtained within 3 months of hire. Physical rehab experience preferred and knowledge of FIM preferred.
