Data Center Security Technician:

As a Data Center Security Technician, you will control access and egress, monitor closed-circuit televisions and alarm systems, compose event logs, and perform other duties as specified in post orders.
Shifts: (1) Mon - Fri -7am-3pm; (2) Mon- Fri 3pm - 11pm

Wage: $19-$22/hr depending on experience and qualifications

Responsibilities:

• Observe and report any suspicious activity

• Maintain awareness of surroundings; watch for irregular or unusual conditions

• Observe departing personnel and ensures that authorized removal of property is conducted within appropriate client requirements

• Contribute to communication and awareness of site policies and issues as needed

• Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitors entrances and exits; control/direct traffic.

• Perform site watch rounds - physical and video

Desired Skills & Experience:

• Able to support a 12hr Shift
• Record information, inventory equipment and tools
• Basic computer skills
• Familiarity with Microsoft Windows – Word & Excel

• Able to update and log reports
• Shipping and Receiving – tracking / recording logistics

• Accurate and timely documentation of 100% checklist requirements
• Accurate and timely submission of timesheet documentation
• Accurate and timely reporting of Incidents
• Accurate and timely submission of Incident Reports

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid Drivers License – good standing
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs
• Ability to work at different heights and surfaces
• Ability to access stand, sit for extended periods of time
• Ability to use mobile application technology

• Organized work habits
• Ability to establish rapport with client representatives

• Comfortable with over-communication
• Excellence with Customer Service Principles
• Ability to work independently or with a team as necessary
• Data Center infrastructure awareness

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment, up to 40lbs.

• Ability to climb ladders and multiple flights of stairs to access elevated equipment
• Ability to stand for long periods of time in various work environments
• Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach for equipment related tasks
• Basic physical fitness to respond quickly to emergency situations and navigate areas quickly
• Ability to move quickly and efficiently withing various work environments to troubleshoot issues or respond to emergencies.
• Good hand-eye coordination and dexterity for working with small components and connectors
• Clear vision, with or without correction, to perform tasks requiring attention to detail and precision while wearing safety glasses
• Ability to differentiate between color-coded warning signs, labels, and cables
• Ability to work in environments with a wide variety temperature inside a facility
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme temperatures, rain, or snow
• Capability to work in environments with elevated noise levels while wearing hearing protection
• Possession of a valid driver’s license for work-related travel, as required
