Salted Stone is a full-service global growth agency and HubSpot Elite Partner looking for a Senior Designer to join our growing creative team.

Your mission will be to conceptualise, design, and project manage a wide range of creative work and marketing strategies, offering solutions that are unique, stylish, eye-catching, and portfolio-worthy, while still meeting a client’s marketing and brand goal. You will also act as the 2IC for the Art Director.

In your new role as a Senior Designer, you’ll get to:

• Lead clear and concise conversations with clients, design dept colleagues, and interdepartmental colleagues as a subject matter expert from a design perspective, while being accountable for design decisions and the purpose behind design choices.
• Confidently represent the design team in client meetings, which includes presenting final layouts, answering client questions, asking questions for further direction, and defending design decisions that lead clients toward the best solution to achieve their business goals.
• Support the design leadership team in managing the Salty Network, Salted Stone’s outsourced design talent pool, which includes providing additional design support on design tasks, providing creative feedback, and ensuring the smooth handoff of tasks/projects between designers should another creative need to be involved on a project.
• Audit client websites by assessing how closely they adhere to current UI/UX best practices and providing suggestions for site-wide improvements.
• Complete assigned tasks reliably (on time and on estimate), including communicating proactively with project owners when there are delays, a need to pivot, or there is a better way to approach a task.
• Show self-sufficiency and capability in performing tasks independently and autonomously.
• Adopt continuous learning to stay up to date with current design trends including working knowledge of current trends in UI/UX.
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of S2 process, project scopes and be a resource on the team for creative and strategic ideas creating unique and engaging visual design.

We’ll expect you to have: 

• Expert skills in Adobe Creative Suite, FIGMA, Sketch, InVision
• Practical creative design experience in an agency or equivalent
• Strong understanding of project management tools such as Teamwork
• Extensive experience creating results-oriented design where “art” meets “function”
• Strong organisational and communications skills, and a passion to work with creative-centered technologies.
• Demonstrated ability to manage timelines, work within budgets and meet expectations
• Ability to successfully communicate and collaborate in an interdisciplinary capacity
• Outstanding typography, layout and composition skills
• A solid understanding of UI/UX principles and the ability to assess websites and provide actionable suggestions for improvement.
• A focus on developing strong, innovative and unique creative concepts that have an outsized impact and drive meaningful results.
• A kick-ass portfolio demonstrating a variety of design skills across the design process!

It would also be great (but not essential) for you to have the following: 

• Video skill sets (storyboards, art direction, editing)
• Animation skills
• Illustration skills

Location

This is a remote-ish role. You can choose to work remotely from anywhere within Australia or in person at our office in Parramatta, Sydney. A mix of both is also welcomed if that works for you. Your Manager works hybrid between home and the Parramatta office.
