Talent Acquisition Manager

We started Salt & Straw because we wanted to build a strong community with our team, our guests, and our partners. As the TAG Manager, you play a critical role in taking care of our team and creating a strong community inside and outside of our scoop shops, kitchens, and Support Centers. This is a new role for our growing company, so we are looking for someone who has the experience to build a strong TAG team. Position Description:

Our Recruiting Manager will bring Salt & Straw values to life for our team and our customers. The Salt & Straw recruiting manager will develop and implement a successful recruiting strategy for “Salties” at all levels. Incumbent lead staffing strategies will attract a diverse pool of qualified people possessing a high level of emotional intelligence and a fun, hard-working passion for creating and serving the world’s best ice cream.

This is a full-time position with regular working hours from 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday. This position is based at our Central Support Office in Portland and reports to the Chief People Officer.

 Essential Responsibilities: 

· Lead a small team focused on professional level requisitions including Ice Cream Shop managers, functional SMEs and regional leaders.

· Develops, facilitates, and implements all phases of the recruitment process, including interview guides and Hiring Manager

· Collaborates with department managers to identify and draft detailed and accurate job descriptions and hiring criteria.

· Leads development of recruiting strategy for front line, coaching recruiting managers in the field

· Supports new Shop Openings with strategic support for recruiting scoopers

· Identifies and implements efficient and effective recruiting methods and strategies based on the available role, industry standards, and the needs of the organization.

· Oversees job posting and advertising processes.

· Facilitates full cycle of screening and interviewing

· Assists with the interview process, attending and conducting interviews with managers, directors, and other stakeholders.

· Collaborates with the hiring manager and/or other human resource staff during the offer process, identifying and recommending salary ranges, incentives, start dates, and other pertinent details.

· Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and company policies.

· Oversees team facilitating job fairs and new shop recruiting initiatives.

· Performs other duties as assigned.

· A continuous and consistent interest in, knowledge about, and competency to meet the needs of the high standards of Salt and Straw

Other Qualifications

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Excellent attention to detail 

· Hands on experience with HRIS or HRMS systems

· Relentless desire to organize, communicate and collaborate 

· Strong ability to effectively communicate with multidisciplinary teams

· Strong computer skills, with either MS Office or G-Suite, particularly with Excel or Google Sheets

· 5 years of office experience or experience in retail or quick service

· Ability to handle high volume email and phone communication 

· Bachelor’s Degree is preferred

· Be able to sit for long periods of time
