Job Title: Director, Accounting & Payroll Systems

Essential Function

This position’s primary responsibilities are to oversee the strategic direction and maintenance of Accounting and Payroll systems, in addition to the Company’s robotic process automation program (RPA, or bot). Act as the primary business point of contact for all projects that will have an impact on Accounting and Payroll systems. Lead cross-functional collaboration with IT. Guide continuous improvement in Accounting/Payroll systems and reporting, including overseeing system implementations and enhancements, driving automation, and championing progressive thinking. Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close, reporting, and both internal and external audit cycles.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, preference given to candidates with finance, accounting, or mathematics degree
• 5 years of accounting or finance experience
• Experience leading process improvement and systems implementations required
• Report design and creation experience required
• Experience in driving the adoption of RPA and other automation tools within an enterprise setting preferred
• SQL development experience preferred
• Microsoft Excel skills required; Advanced level preferred
• Hands-on experience using the following software applications is a plus: Oracle E-Business Suite General Ledger, Oracle Enterprise Data Management Cloud, EPM Cloud Financial Consolidation and Close, EPM Cloud Account Reconciliation, Oracle Cloud Human Capital Management, Oracle Transactional Business Intelligence, Oracle Smart View for Office, Blue Prism Robotic Process Automation (RPA), Lawson, Infor Cloud Suite

Primary Duties

45% Direct the analysis, recommendation, and deployment of systems solutions for the Accounting and Payroll teams utilizing a mix of technical and cross-functional business knowledge. Drive transformation and continuous improvement through systems implementations, enhancements, and growing the RPA function throughout the Company.

30% Oversee and ensure the completeness and accuracy of financial system integrations into the consolidated ledger and financial reporting deliverables. Oversee the daily maintenance of the global chart of accounts, ledger hierarchies, and certain sub ledgers. Direct the team in support of monthly financial close, reporting and audits.

15% Develop, lead, and coach a team of analysts and developers.

5% Design, implement and maintain appropriate internal controls, and spearhead compliance with SOX requirements in relevant systems.

5% Other projects and responsibilities related to Accounting and Payroll systems as assigned.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

The work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, meeting and training rooms, retail stores, and residences or commercial vehicles, e.g., use of safe work practices with office equipment, avoidance of trips and falls, observance of fire regulations and traffic signals, etc. The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated.

The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items such as papers, files, books, small parts; using a keyboard, driving an automobile, etc. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
