Education/Experience:

High School Diploma/GED Preferred. Previous experience in transporter of patient a plus. Evidence of good grooming and appropriate manner and conduct. Ability to work effectively with others. Speaks distinctly and correctly.

Comprehends directions. Requires excellent customer service and phone skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

• Transfers and transports patients on stretcher or wheelchair
• Transports patient, alone or with assistance, in bed, wheeled cart, or wheelchair to designated areas within the facility during patient stay.
• Determines patient names, destination, mode of travel, time, and other data, following written oral instructions.
• Assists patient in walking to prevent accidents of falling, or transports non-ambulatory patient with wheelchair.
• Directs or escorts incoming patients from admitting office or reception desk to designated area.
• Assists in handling and managing restraints on patients
• Assists technicians in moving patients on and off imaging tables
• Cleans rooms and equipment as assigned
• Ensures that equipment is returned to central supply and storage
• Verifies processors have fixer and developer chemicals/lads films into processors
• Collects and delivers specimens/films/documentation as assigned
• Follows care plan for patient as set up by licensed personnel
• Answers phone calls in a professional and friendly manner.
