This position has primary responsibility for planning, organizing, directing, controlling and evaluating the timely and efficient completion of all laboratory tests on a 24 hour basis in order to ensure quality patient care through incorporation of unit goals with the objectives of the Laboratory Department and the philosophy of the Hospital. Position serves as a resource and role model to staff regarding current medical laboratory practices and procedures. Promotes specialized knowledge and skills through support of educational and professional development of assigned staff. Develops and administers standards of care for evaluation of the clinical performance of laboratory staff. Position is also responsible for quality and regulatory activities, inventory control, purchasing of supplies and equipment, and contract negotiations.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s degree preferred.
Licensure: Current California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (MTA) or Medical Technologist (MT) license required.
Experience: A minimum of five (5) years’ progressive laboratory experience, at least three of which have been at the supervisory/managerial level required.
The hourly rate for this position is $69.15 - $86.44. The range displayed on this job posting reflects the target for new hire salaries for this position.
