- POSITION SUMMARY
- Position Summary:
- The Nuclear Medicine technologist performs general diagnostic studies on all patient populations (neonate through geriatric) and exhibits superior levels of customer service. The Nuclear Medicine technologist effectively operates radiographic equipment to produce quality images in a variety of settings (Radiology Department and Imaging Center). The technologist explains procedures to the patient and answers any question the patient may have. The technologist demonstrates appropriate patient positioning, and obtains optimum views of specified anatomy. The technologist adjusts equipment contols and adjusts the radioactive dose for the particular study. The technologist demonstrates effective radiation safety practices and assists the Radiologist, when necessary. The technologist interacts with numerous computer programs and systems on a daily basis.
- POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum Education
- Graduate of an AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology
- Minimum Experience
- One year hospital experience preferred
- Required Registration/License/Certification
- ARRT
- BLS Certification within 90 days of employment
