Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Bridge Inspector to join our team. As an Inspector, you will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring the quality and compliance of construction projects. Your attention to detail and expertise in construction inspection will be crucial in maintaining high standards of workmanship.
This assignment starts in June to August 2024 in San Benito County or in Carmel, CA.
Duties:
- Conduct thorough inspections of construction sites to ensure compliance with building codes, regulations, and project specifications
- Analyze construction plans, schematics, and blueprints to understand project requirements
- Monitor construction progress and identify any deviations from plans or specifications
- Collect data and document findings during inspections
- Collaborate with construction management teams to address any issues or concerns
- Perform quality inspections to ensure workmanship meets industry standards
- Provide guidance and support to junior inspectors as needed
Qualifications:
-The Bridge Inspection should have a bachelor degree plus 4 years of experience in Bridge inspection OR a bachelor degree in Civil Engineering with a minimum of 2 years of experience in Bridge Inspection.
- Knowledge and experience with equipment used in roadway construction inspection, surveying, and construction office engineering.
- Knowledge of computers, computer applications, and computer software programs such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and others); Critical Path Method (CPM) software such as Primavera Project Planner (P3, P6).
- Knowledge and experience with principles of effective communication.
- Knowledge and experience with monitoring labor compliance.
- Knowledge and experience with subcontracting laws and policies.
- Knowledge and experience with the Storm Water Pollution Prevention Program and the General Permit.
- Knowledge of Caltrans Standard Plans, Standard Specifications, and Construction Manual.
- Knowledge of proper background clearance, as necessary, when performing work on or near the rail system.
- Knowledge and experience in keeping complete, accurate, and concise records of the work and quantities.
