ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
1. Consistently provides quality patient care in a professional atmosphere while performing radiographic exams with accuracy and professionalism as prescribed by a physician, acknowledging the special needs of patients, i.e. pregnancy, trauma, sick and/or elderly patients.
2. Consistently performs quality radiographic exams by:
a. Determines proper technique through the selection of voltage, current and exposure time to minimize patient and staff exposure and to effect quality diagnostic images.
b. Properly positions patient to obtain optimum views of specified area of body as requested by physician.
c. Properly shields to minimize radiation to patient and staff and to ensure a safe environment.
3. Transports patients to and from department and assists patient from bed or gurney to exam table.
4. Assures that any required consent forms are signed prior to examination, and obtains pertinent and adequate history on all patient exams.
5. Obtains and fills out proper reaction sheets and histories as necessary for all patients; and advises physician of allergies as warranted.
6. Practices sterile techniques and cleanliness at all times to prevent cross-contamination.
7. Performs radiographic procedures in the operating rooms, emergency rooms, and recovery room and patient rooms, using portable equipment in a safe, efficient atmosphere.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED; and must have graduated from an approved ARRT program; and one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Current Registration by the ARRT (R). Current CPR certification.

Exciting opportunity available for a Registered Radiologic Technologist in our Imaging Department to work at our Buena Vista Health Center. This position is regular part-time (24 hrs/wk) and is eligible for our full benefits package to include medical, dental and vision insurance. Paid time off, employer matching retirement plans, REACH Air membership and employee assistance program. This position is scheduled to work Saturday and Sunday, 4 hours each day and Monday 10 hours. An additional 10-hour shift will be scheduled on the main campus in Salida.
Under the direct supervision of the Radiology Manager, the Radiologic Technologist performs radiographic procedures to assist in a diagnosis of disease and injuries. The Radiologic Technologist works effectively with patients and patients' families and maintains a cooperative relationship with interdepartmental personnel.
