ESSENTIAL DUTIES PER AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY
1. Under the direction of a radiologist, performs quality mammography examinations using proper positioning and patient exposure.
2. Proficient in utilization of the MagView reporting program.
3. Make sure that all technologists and radiologist are in compliance with the required procedures performed and read by ACR and MQSA guidelines.
4. Assists the radiologist in performing breast biopsies and takes associated radiographs.
5. Maintain pathology records within the MagView program.
6. Recognizes and is attentive to patient's anxiety; keeps patient informed of all procedures.
7. Is responsible for proper overall maintenance and recording of MQSA/ACR mammography quality programs to maintain compliance.
8. Assumes primary responsibility for maintaining mammography scheduling backlog so that it doesn’t exceed two weeks out.
9. Must make every effort to accommodate patient/physician requests for mammography services regardless of patient’s place on (or not on) the mammography schedule.
10. Must remain proficient in the use of all mammographic imaging equipment through Hologic.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Must have graduated from an approved ARRT program with mammography and radiography registration (or mammo certification eligible); and one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Leadership experience preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Current Registration by the ARRT, both RT(R) and RT(M) or mammography registry eligible.

This role leads a team of employees by supporting the manager and performs management duties in the absence of
the manager. This role provides encouragement to team members, including modeling and communicating team
goals and identifying areas for new training or skill assessments. Assists manager with hiring processes of new team
members and participates with on-boarding as assigned. Is a resource to the employees assisting with problem
solving and answering questions. The team lead oversees daily/shift operations for quality and policy compliance.
This role provides quality customer service and facilitates real-time resolution to any customer concerns. The Lead
Mammography Technologist also holds responsibility for maintaining compliance with Mammography Quality Standards
Act and Program (MQSA) and American College of Radiology (ACR) requirements.
