Salesforce is hiring an expert, technical enterprise communications professional to lead our Einstein AI, Data, and Platform team. This person will be responsible for developing and implementing a communications strategy that positions Salesforce at the forefront of enterprise AI as the #1 AI CRM.
Passion for emerging technology and creative storytelling is key. You are comfortable translating sophisticated technologies and concepts into compelling stories for media, and lead communications activities that advance broader business goals. You will partner closely with senior executives across the communications, marketing and product teams to define strategies and get results that set Salesforce apart. You will be able to take an audience-first approach, with the ability to tell stories across earned and owned channels and mediums. A deep understanding of AI, data, and platform technologies and the related media landscape is a requirement.
Responsibilities (what you'll be doing):
Lead communications for our , , and technologies.
Lead communications for our and strategic partnership organizations (strategic partners include AWS, Google Cloud, and others).
Forge deep relationships with outstanding business, tech, and trade media.
Manage a team of ICs who each are responsible for different areas of your product portfolio.
Lead all aspects of always-on comms campaigns for each of your workstreams. This includes product announcements, owned content strategies, proactive media strategies, exec thought leadership, customer stories, and more.
Become an influential leader across the comms organization, where you will work with other global leads to review top priorities, and ensure your team's programs map to broader business strategy.
Identify compelling innovation stories beyond our big product moments and tell those stories across Salesforce channels as well as landing earned media on them.
Write and edit a variety of content including technical product announcements, executive bylines, and thought leadership pieces.
See around corners. Understand market trends and how we should be tapping into them to drive relevance. Also understand competitive threats and advise on how we respond.
Leverage multiple data sources (media analysis, owned channel metrics, social engagement) to innovate, evolve your program and drive more impact.
Act as a trusted counselor to senior executives on sophisticated issues, both communications-related and beyond.
Skills and Experience:
12 years of validated experience, preferably in enterprise technology or related area.
Can dive in and take the time to become a true subject matter authority on our technology. Comfortable briefing reporters on background when vital.
Validated understanding of the B2B SaaS enterprise go-to-market motion and product development cycles, and where communications fits in.
Able to deliver results under the most high pressure, often ambiguous circumstances
Comfortable leading high-profile, high-stakes stories.
Able to thrive with minimal direction, and pivot fast and hard when needed (and it will be needed)
Can work cross-functionally to ensure shared success for comms and related partners
Consistent track record in building relationships and collaborating with press, executives, partners and other team members.
Encourages team to constantly push boundaries, challenges status quo to improve systems and processes.
Has strong emotional intelligence. Able to empower team to get the best performance.
