In consultation with the building principal and Director of Literacy, the reading specialist works with all instructional staff to ensure that each student receives developmentally appropriate literacy instruction to maximize learning. This work includes co-planning, co-teaching, coaching individual and small groups of teachers, as well as coordinating with the STEM Integrator and Special Education Team. The Reading Specialist collaborates with a team of other specialists across the District to provide school and district-wide professional development, job-embedded professional development, and to promote reflective practice and data-driven decision making. NH Reading and Writing Specialist (0037) certification required.
