Preschool Chef
As Nutritionist of Salem Methodist Preschool your role is very important in helping to maintain the healthy eating practices & nutrition of all children & Families that we serve. The ideal candidate will have 4 essential roles which include:
- Meal/Snack Prep & Delivery
- Cleaning & Sanitation
- Record Keeping/ Inventory/ Purchasing
- The Preschool Chef will be expected to:
- Prepare child-friendly, diverse and developmentally appropriate meals & snacks for a small group of Preschool-aged children daily
- Adhere to DCFS & Cook County Health Dept. regulations regarding food distribution/collection, storage, preparation and all kitchen operations & sanitation
- Preform accurate record keeping, inventory monitoring & purchasing of all food/ nutrition related program needs
- Maintaining a functional relationship with all vendors/distributors
- Gain or maintain Serve Safe Manager Certification
- Lift 30 lbs
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 25 per week
Weekly day range:
- Monday to Friday
Education:
- High school or equivalent (Required)
Experience:
- Food Preparation: 1 year (Preferred)
- Food Management: 1 year (Preferred)
License/Certification:
- Food Handler Certification (Required)
Work Location: In person
