Your Role With Us:

Salem Health is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to lead as the Manager of Peer Review and Clinical Support. The role involves overseeing the Clinical Data Support Peer Review process, building relationships with medical staff leaders, and integrating Lean methodology for continuous improvement. Additionally, the manager will align departmental strategies with organizational goals, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and supervise a team responsible for various roles such as Peer Review Coordinator and Clinical Decision Support Analyst. This position also entails managing data collection for quality metrics, participating in business intelligence initiatives, and collaborating on projects to identify and resolve gaps in clinical care.

Key responsibilities include analyzing patterns of variance in clinical care, implementing strategies to improve performance and patient outcomes, and maintaining confidentiality of information. The manager must possess strong communication skills, proficiency in data management, and expertise in regulatory standards such as Joint Commission and CMS requirements. The role requires effective leadership in teams, adept project management skills, and the ability to handle multiple complex projects simultaneously. Overall, the Manager of Peer Review and Clinical Support plays a crucial role in driving quality improvement initiatives and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care at Salem Health.

Background/Expertise:

Education:

  • Requires BSN, Master's Degree Preferred. Bachelor of Arts in Nursing also accepted. Will consider non-nursing Bachelor's Degree with MSN.

Experience:

  • Three (3) years acute care RN experience required.
  • Two (2) years minimum progressive leadership experience required.

License/certifications:

  • Current, unencumbered license to practice as an RN in the State of Oregon.
  • Certified Profession in Health Care Quality (CPHQ)- preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Prior experience in data systems management and using data to drive improvement across the organizations, preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in performance improvement.
  • Prior experience in applying Lean leader skills and streamlining complex work processes.
  • Previous experience with Peer Review, and Continuing Medical Education/Continuing Professional Development; preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and motivate teams to achieve strategies.
