Your Role With Us:

As a Chuukese Medical Interpreter with Salem Health, you will assist in the important role of patient care by providing and coordinating language interpretation between patient, family and health care provider(s). In this role, you will utilize your unique customer care skills and excellent communication abilities to facilitate understanding between medical staff, patients and their families.

Background/Expertise:

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Formal three (3) years interpreting experience required.
• Two (2) years interpreting experience in Health care required.
• Completion of a State approved health care interpreter training course.
• Currently certified or qualified through Oregon Health Authority (OHA.) Required to complete all necessary education and processes to maintain certification.
• Currently certified or qualified through Oregon Health Authority (OHA.) or eligible and in the process of acquiring certification/qualification.
• Some assignments require current Oregon driver’s license, dependable automobile and current personal auto insurance coverage.
