Salem is looking for an experienced Direct Support Professionals with at least six months of experience in a developmentally disabled youth or adults setting to provide services at our new home in a residential neighborhood near the OC Fairgrounds in Orange County. Candidates should have familiarity with developmentally disabled healthcare laws, regulations and standards.

Summary
Reporting to the QIDP Administrator, the Direct Support Professional is responsible for the care of each resident in the assigned Intermediate Care Facility program. The Direct Support Professional will be under the supervision of individual care manager and staff. Provide experienced residential services to adults with developmental disabilities. Depending on the needs of the residents, the DSP will help with living skills development, health maintenance, personal care, and behavioral development. These services should be person centered and focused on individualization, integration, independence and productivity.
Hours Required: Full-Time positions with various shifts (Day, PM & NOC). Must be available to work weekends.
Education Required: High school Diploma or equivalent. Complete DSP I certificate within 6 months of hire and DSP II within 1 year. Salem pays for training. An active and maintenance of CPR/First Aid and CPI/ProAct certification. Complete required staff training and minimum of 36 hours continuing education annually.
Experience Required: A minimum of 6 months experience in a developmentally disabled youth or adults setting desired. Familiarity with developmentally disabled healthcare laws, regulations and standards.
Must meet Title 17 and/or Title 22 requirements including, but not limited to: Minimum age 21. Bi-cultural/bi-lingual experience is an asset. Experience working with Regional Center and Community Care Licensing. Basic computer skills for using Microsoft Office Suite, Office 365, Internet and related business applications.
Skills and Abilities: Be able to deal effectively with a wide variety of personalities and situations requiring tact, poise, friendliness and sensitivity. Ability to think clearly and manage multiple changing priorities while using good judgement in stressful situations. Be able to maintain integrity and confidentiality regulations in regards to client records. Must be able to work overtime as dictated by needs of the program. Must be able to communicate well in English, both verbally and in writing. Ability to communicate verbally by phone in a concise and clear manner.
Physical Abilities: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. (to transfer clients).
License Required: A valid California Driver's License - Class II/C. Proof of current auto insurance.
