Equestrian Attendant / Riding Instructor position at Salamander Middleburg- Triple Star Luxury Resort located in Middleburg, VA

Responsibilities:

Full Care of Resort Horses:

• Grooming, bathing, exercising, and basic first aid.
• Tack care and cleaning.
• Stables chores (stalls, field cleaning, watering).
• Facility upkeep.
• Customer Service and Riding Instruction:
• Provide excellent customer service to guests.
• Teach riding lessons to a variety of skill levels, ages, and disciplines.
• Front and rear guiding of group and private trail rides on the resort property.
• Children’s Programs:
• Facilitate pony rides and other children’s programs.

Safety and UTV Operation:

• Extremely safety-conscious and practices safe habits.
• Drives a small utility terrain vehicle (UTV).
• Additional Duties:
• Perform other miscellaneous tasks as needed.

Training:

• Attend hospitality and luxury standards training classes.
• Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Minimum of five years of experience working and riding in a professional setting.
• Experience teaching riding lessons to beginners through intermediate riders.
• Customer service experience.
• Knowledge of correct, classical riding/teaching, and high-quality horsemanship standards, or an open willingness to learn.

Physical Requirements:

Regularly stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, and crouch.

Ability to lift and move up to 100 pounds.
