Salado Isolation Mining Contractors, managing and operating contractor of the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) is currently seeking a qualified individual to serve as a Facility Systems Engineering Manager to join our team located in Carlsbad, NM.

The successful candidate will provide daily leadership and management support to facility systems engineering personnel. Work with the WIPP management team to support the WIPP mission by providing resources to support engineering designs, design reviews, field engineering activities, as-built activities, and technical management of Facility Systems. Provide leadership in safety, issues management, and meeting customer commitments. Develop and maintain organizational dynamics to foster technical excellence in engineering and superior communication between cross functional areas. Develop budget and resource strategies to meet the mission requirements. Perform managerial functions including vacation and timecard approvals, technical document review and approvals, and other activities as directed by the Engineering Department Manager.

Exempt Salary Grade (36-38)

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering plus nine (9) years of engineering related experience is required.

Must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in limited circumstances. See DOE Order 472.2 for additional information.

Higher education attainment than listed acceptable per internal level identifiers of accompanying years of experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Professional Engineer License.
• Experience performing engineering analysis including calculations, design reviews, and procedures.
• Previous work experience with subcontractors, schedules, budgets, and proposals.
• Experience interfacing with regulatory entities.
• Engineering experience in a nuclear environment.
• PMP certification.
• Previous WIPP Project experience.

Minimum salary $128,071 per year of a larger salary range --the specific salary offered to a candidate will be influenced by a variety of factors, particularly the candidate’s relevant experience and education.
