Position: Site Reliability Engineer
Duration: 12 months contract

JOB DESCRIPTION

SKILLS NEEDED : Programming Knowledge- Any programming, AKS, Kubernetes, Openshift

No specific project - he is running the SRE function for all of Cloud functions. He has public, private and containers - expanded in to vault, etc.

Cloud SRE Engineers, overall function to improvise, support, cloud and cloud services.

Has people in USA and India - 24/7 coverage

SRE: This role is more supporting the cloud platform along with automation and development

Support - Tickets and escalations, problem solving

Automation: Python and Ansible / Ansible Engineers - that will do the engineering

Former Systems Engineers - Systems and Scripting and Automation, write it not handle just the tickets.

OS: Linux, Windows with Shell/Bash, Ansible Playbooks

Knowledge of Azure Aws - Containers - OpenShift (OPC)

People can use the platform to provision - don't support deploy work loads / This person will deal with any problems they have doing that.

Development teams write workflows - they (SRE) are creating/automating things that monitor how those things are up and running and are available - automation is built around this.

If they have to work a problem twice - lets automate it - find out why it happened, missing something in implementation, self heal - document for operations team.

Following it through - taking to dev team, creating process around it, creating automation

Would consider former Systems/Networking background / One of each ideal because of below:

Today his team does not write the code / They do write monitoring automations / Automate the tasks that they do. Team is shifting left - they are doing root cause of the failure but will look to contribute to the code for bug fix. (not the whole feature, find a problem - identify problem - code review to fix)

Infrastructure, Databases - NoSQL MySQL, Elastic Search Splunk for Logging, Jenkins

Terraform, Consul, Nomad and Vault

• BS /MS degree in Computer Science or related technical field involving systems or equivalent practical experience.

5 Years of experience - hit the ground running / Senior Resource / Looking at total experience open to 3 years Systems/Dev and 2 SRE -

Confirm Cloud Platform:

• AWS/AZURE - Currently using Azure, some AWS /

Will the candidate need experience with Scripting or Software Development?

Shell, Python, Ansible - PowerShell, Golang, Java, node.js, Perl, Rust, Scala, C/C , Ruby

Operating System:

THe platform is now on Openshift they are expanding it into Azure
