Sajovie Bros. Landscaping is Hiring a Landscape Maintenance Crew Leader (Full-time) Near Maple, OH

Job Description:

Sajovie Brothers Landscaping, Inc. is a year-round organization that provides high quality Landscape Maintenance, Landscape Enhancement, and Snow Removal Services for its valued customers.

Crew Leaders are a vital component and are required to provide professional leadership while carrying out the company’s core goals, mission, and vision. The Landscape Maintenance Crew Leader must be highly proficient at performing all the typical duties of a Landscape Crewmember as well as directly supervising a crew of 2-5 crewmembers while carrying out all daily tasks/jobs and ensuring all work performed meets the high-quality standards and exceeds customer expectations.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Perform and supervise all assigned landscape duties and responsibilities at a high-quality level within the allotted budgeted time frame utilizing industry standard methods and typical industry related equipment. Ongoing Training will
be provided.

Job Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Review and Plan daily/weekly schedule & routes with Landscape Maintenance Operations Manager
  • Execute Plan to meet productivity standards while completing work in a timely manner and within budgeted hours
  • Daily completion and submittal of all required documentation including Aspire (on smart phone or tablet), etc.
  • Loading and unloading of equipment/supplies based on what is needed to complete daily tasks
  • Responsible for safely driving to/from assigned jobsites to perform assigned tasks
  • Assign Tasks/Supervise Crewmembers/Motivate Crewmembers and continually assess and train Crewmembers to achieve high-quality results
  • Perform/Assign/Supervise daily maintenance and service check-ups of equipment, tools, truck and trailer, and trailer inventory
  • Identify and communicate all equipment issues with Operations Manager in a timely manner (minimum: daily)
  • Utilize/Train/Enforce all Industry Standard Safety Procedures and Practices as required by Company Policy, OSHA, Local/State/Federal Guidelines, as well as Manufacturers recommendations. (Including the required use of PPE)
  • Participate and assist with on-going Training Program, crewmember development, performance reviews, and other crewmember work-related functions
  • Always set a positive and productive example for Crewmembers in a professional manner
  • Participate in on-going position-related Training Program (OLA, NALP, etc.) for continual progress in areas such as: equipment operation, proper landscape techniques, plant identification, weed identification, trimming and pruning methods, etc.
  • Provide excellent customer service (internal & external) at all times
  • Commit to long hours (and Saturdays) when necessary to reach completion of assigned tasks and achieve Company goals
  • Apply professional methods regarding conflict resolution with the goal of building a positive team spirit

Required Qualifications/Job Requirements:

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED); and or 12 months of training or work-related experience
  • Basic math skills – such as: ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure to properly complete documentation
  • Basic computer skills
  • Two to three years of field related experience performing similar Crew Leader job duties (preferred – relevance/necessity to be determined on a case-by-case basis)
  • Ability to safely drive and maneuver a truck and trailer
  • Basic understanding of professional turfgrass maintenance, common weeds and pests and professional control methods
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
  • Ability to meet physical demands (refer to Employee Handbook) to perform the required tasks and job duties
  • Ability to pass drug and background screening (refer to Employee Handbook)
  • Good communication skills
  • Reliable transportation to/from the office

Work Conditions/Work Requirements: Operations Managers must be physically able to train and work with field staff in the correct use all Landscape Industry related equipment (including Aspire) to effectively complete assigned job tasks while working in a fast-paced outdoor environment in various weather conditions including heat and humidity, rain, wind, noise, dust, and cold.
