Saint Simons By-The-Sea Hospital is seeking a Director of Outpatient Services. This position provides oversight to the Outpatient Department, which includes the IOP and PHP service-lines. The position is structured in such a way that it will also entail a hybrid component of oversight and responsibilities to both in-person IOP/PHP services and virtual/tele-services. Provides administrative supervision for outpatient services staff; develops and administers a comprehensive systems of outpatient services that respond to the community’s needs and supports the organization’s overall mission, philosophy, and goals; integrates the management of the outpatient system into the organization’s continuum of care; consistently monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of program services offered and monitors for program compliance with state and federal accreditation bodies. The Outpatient Services Director works cooperatively with other management team members to ensure that each patient has a positive clinical experience with the best possible outcome. This position will work very closely with Director of Clinical Services, Admissions Director, Director of Business Development, and CNO/DON.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following tasks:
Maintains a professional demeanor at all times and responds to patients, families, co-workers, and community partners in a courteous, respectful manner.
- Provides ongoing administrative supervision for PHP/IOP outpatient staff and ensures that quality programming occurs in the Partial Hospitalization Program and Intensive Outpatient Program.
- Identifies and ensures the implementation of effective outpatient-based clinical services within the established market.
- Establishes clear goals and objectives for the clinical services to be provided within the outpatient system
- Promotes effective communication between inpatient and outpatient staff through problem-solving, focused team meetings, prompt and accurate notification of procedural changes, etc.
- Communicates goals and objectives to service delivery and administrative support staff, resulting in an effective overall understanding of the outpatient.
- Ensures the development and expansion of the outpatient system’s referral base to reach prospective clinically appropriate service recipients. Responsible for growing the IOP/PHP business.
- Responds promptly, and constructively, to complaints and concerns lodged by referral sources and service recipients.
- Meets regularly with supervisor to review services, utilization levels, patient satisfaction, and related issues and factors; consistently comes to meetings adequately prepared.
- Demonstrates knowledge of current treatment methods and age specific communications skills.
- Invests time in each inpatient program to observe nature of services needed and delivered, and to better integrate outpatient care into overall continuum. Provides INPT groups to discuss step-down planning.
- Manage virtual-tele program.
- Works closely with hospital to ensure next steps program is in place and potential referrals are identified and permitted to guest.
- Works with Business Development to promote outpatient services and educate the community, referral sources, first responders, as well as staff members on programming and mental health topics.
- Ensures all outpatient services staff receives department orientation and other appropriate training.
- Provides a formal written performance evaluation of all clinical staff according to policy.
- Conducts IOP/PHP admission assessments and responsible for the nursing duties in the IOP/PHP program.
- Functions as the Administrator-on-call as needed and takes calls for special facility needs.
- Follows and abides by Company policies, procedures, and Corporate Compliance Program, as applicable to role and responsibilities.

Qualifications:
Qualified candidates must have a master’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or related field OR have a GA license in nursing with at least three (3) years’ experience working in chemical dependency/mental health treatment; two (2) years supervisory/administrative experience. Therapist must have a current licensure by State of Georgia as CSW or LPC. Experience in an inpatient setting preferred.
