TheHistology Tech will:

Provides Pathologist with accurate samplings of surgical and autopsy specimens; processing them chemically, sectional and staining them on a glass slide for diagnosis by the Pathologist.

• Processes all specimens
• Sets up tissue processor in predetermined sequence in accordance with established Department procedures
• Replaces chemicals on a regular basis in accordance with established Department procedures
• Sets instruments for defined timing sequence as observed by actual time out in the A.M. in accordance with established Department procedures
• Embeds processed tissue samples
• Cuts, mounts, stains and labels slides and matches to corresponding requisition form
• Records temperature on tissue processor on a daily basis

Requirements:

• One year training in approved Histology program.
• Eligible for ASCP Histology registry/equivalent training and experience required
