Responsible for effectively staffing switchboard from 7:00 am to 9:00 pm, 365 days a year. Must be flexible and able to work as needed for relief. Responsible for managing incoming and outgoing calls on multi-line phone system, managing overhead paging and announcement of codes. Responsible for performing customer service and clerical activities as assigned. Responsible for meeting the public in a manner as to give a positive impression of the hospital to all who come in contact with us in any way. Responsible for greeting and receiving hospital guests, ascertaining their needs and appropriately directing visitors and callers. Responsible for helping to train switchboard employees to perform their duties, setting the example for teamwork and customer service. Responsible for assisting with volunteers and oversight of visiting clergy. Support other departments with projects that can be accomplished through teamwork, utilizing Volunteers when needed. Responsible for promoting goodwill, awareness and understanding of hospital services among employees, volunteers, physicians and the community. Perform all duties consistent with our Mission, Vision, and Values. Responsible for maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
