Saint Joseph Villa is Hiring a Purchasing Coordinator Near Flourtown, PA

SUMMARY OF JOB: 

Responsible for oversight of the Materials Management Department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Standardize and evaluate all products, medical equipment and services.
  • Develop and adhere to effective policies and procedures for management of supplies and materials.
  • Immediate response to Product Recalls including removal of impacted supplies from all areas, and communication to impacted areas.
  • Review and make appropriate recommendations in reference to new supplies and equipment used at the Villa.
  • Manage the purchasing of supplies and equipment, and par levels.
  • Direct and assist with the distribution functions of the Materials Management Department. 
  • Collaborate with sales representatives and keep current on supply publications and price changes.
  • Collaborate with Villa’s group purchasing organizations to negotiate purchasing agreements for goods and services.
  • Document and authorize all supply invoices for payment.
  • Collaborate with Leadership on authorization for Capital purchases and invoices.
  • Manage the monthly charge entry into PCC for Ancillary charges.
  • Track rented equipment.
  • Conduct periodic physical inventory of Material Management and provide to the Business Office.
  • Develop and support Materials Management PIMs.
  • Establish and maintain a good professional rapport with all departments and PIMs.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Associate degree required. Extensive experience in purchasing may be in lieu of.
  • Two years of Purchasing or related experience

EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

  • Knowledge of medical and office supplies
  • Management of stock room and par levels
  • Ability to use computer programs to manage inventory
  • Excellent communication skills verbally and written; articulate and professional 

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Moderate, heavy physical effort
    1. Lift/carry up to 30 lbs.
  • Frequent kneeling/crouching/reaching
  • Frequently stooping/bending
  • Frequently moves/lifts equipment and supplies
  • Frequently pushes carts/platforms/furniture/flatbeds
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing
  • Requires far and near visual acuity, field vision and color vision to read written communications
