Saint Francis House Inc is Hiring a Recovery Support Center Supervisor Near Boston, MA

Description

Salary Range: $53,100 - $58,400 per year paid hourly as $25.53 - $28.08 per hour

Schedule: 8 hours a day, 5 days per week, from 6:30am-2:30pm. Scheduled to supervise shifts on days when the Associate Director is not scheduled. Additional hours in the evenings, non-scheduled days and holidays may be required.

Job Summary:

The Recovery Support Center Supervisor focuses on ensuring that the Center has the supplies and resources needed to support members and staff in their daily operations, including activities and planned special events. They ensure that all activities and services are planned, organized, and representing members’ priorities, and operating successfully. They provide direct supervision and support to the other. The Supervisor has supervisory responsibility for all activities of the shift when the Associate Director is not working and collaborates closely with the Associate Director to ensure consistent policies and practices across all 7 days the Center is open.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Associate Director to create policy and procedures for the center.
  • Act as a liaison for the Advisory Board Members; facilitate bi-weekly meetings to ensure that they are following the peer participatory process.
  • Acting supervisor for 2 shifts/week or as needed for coverage. 

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Uphold the mission and vision of the Center, acting as a positive role model and peer mentor. Proactively champion multiple pathways of recovery and the value of a peer support community.
  • Have an active and engaging presence in the day-to-day operations of the Center. Seek out ways to support members in their recovery, wellness and personal growth.
  • Center the peer participatory process in all pieces of the work, seeking to engage member participation in both routine tasks and special events.
  • Collaborate closely with other departments to create a seamless access to information for the center. 
  • Take the lead on all operational needs of the center, including supplies, resources, and facility requests.
  • Provide direct support for any activities, giving guidance and encouragement to members planning and promoting activities, and handling purchases as needed.
  • Ensure that activities in the center are well planned and have the supplies and tools they need to be successful. Ensure participation is tracked and recorded.
  • Ensure that members have up to date information about Center activities and events.
  • Provide direct support to members in managing the Room to Grow Facebook page and other social media.
  • Provide weekly/bi-weekly supervision to staff as needed.
  • Supervise a minimum of 2 shifts per week in the absence of the Associate Director. Find coverage to fill absences, make real-time decisions and provide guidance and redirection to staff on shift as needed.
  • Communicate regularly and proactively with Associate Director to ensure seamless transitions across all seven days of operations.
  • Work with Associate Director to manage supply inventory, monitor relevant budget line items, track spending, and place orders as needed.
  • Welcomes new visitors to the center and make sure a staff member is assigned to completes new enrollment. 
  • Work closely with Advisory Board to organize themselves and their thoughts and ideas. Provide encouragement to help them be more deeply involved in participating in the center.
  • Helps members to generate ideas for activities and resources that promote recovery by ensuring a focus on mind, body, and spirit.
  • Provides supportive redirection and/or referral for those whose presentation may suggest possible substance use or whose behavior is not consistent with the center’s expectations.
  • Practice motivational interviewing and other techniques central to recovery coaching practices.
  • Seek out formal and informal opportunities for professional development and growth. Actively participate in training and workshops.
  • Provide direct support to the Associate Director in ensuring good quality data collection and reporting. Ensure that data are being entered in a timely way.
  • Adheres to agency code of conduct.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Required:
  • High school diploma or equivalent 
  • Documented training in recovery coaching, motivational interviewing, addiction treatment, and/or other related areas
  • Preferred:
  • Recovery Coach Certification (CARC) 
  • Lived experience with substance abuse disorder with a sustained and stable recovery of at least 3 years.
  • Minimum of 2 years of related work experience in a substance use recovery setting and/or with people experiencing homelessness and addiction.
  • Experience in a role that required supervision or leadership, preferably in the field of human services.
  • Full fluency in English. Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
  • Experience as a member or staff in a peer recovery support center a plus.
