Saint Francis Hospital is Hiring an ER Tech Near Charleston, WV
- JOB SUMMARYThe Emergency Room Tech provides direct and indirect care to patients under the direction of the Primary Nurse/Charge Nurse. The Emergency room tech performs basic activities of daily living and assists licensed personnel to ensure the delivery of safe, effective, efficient, quality patient care.
- EDUCATION
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Applicants must have at least one year applicable experience or a graduate of a nursing assistant program, Medical Assistance program or EMT.
- Nursing students that have completed at least half of their nursing program, or one year of applicable experience will qualify for the ER tech position.
- LICENSURE
- Graduate of a Nursing Assistant Program, Medical Assistant Program or EMT program.
- A nursing student that has completed at least half of their nursing program, or one year of applicable experience will qualify for the ER tech position.
- EXPERIENCE
- Applicants must have at least one year applicable experience or a graduate of a nursing assistant program, Medical Assistance program or EMT.
- CERTIFICATION
- BLS (CPR) within 60 days of hire if not already a current provider “ must be American Heart Association sponsored class to include CPR and AED”.
- COMPUTER/TYPING/MATH SKILLS
- Must be or must become familiar with the hospital computer systems.
- Must have minimal computer skills.
- JOB SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
- Must possess good oral communication skills.
- Must be able to communicate with all hospital contacts, both on the telephone and directly.
- Must be able to read and write legibly in order to communicate patient needs and document in the patient record.
- Healthcare provider BLS validation within 60 days of employment, with revalidation per AHA guidelines.
- Must have the ability to solve practical problems.
- Must have the ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in verbal, written, diagram or schedule form.
