Saint Francis - Manchester is a non-profit Assisted Living Community at 65 West Clopton St., Richmond.
We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated, energetic, creative, skilled Full-time Activities Director to support our mission of providing, “an affordable, loving home and quality assisted care for older adults who have limited financial means.” As the Activities Director you will play a vital role in creating and providing opportunities for senior residents to engage in an active social environment throughout each day. Salary Range Start: $50,000
· Under minimal supervision plan, organize and direct persons, programs, and services to ensure high standards in activity and recreational programs and outings for residents, and occasional events for staff and volunteers of Saint Francis - Manchester.
· Direct the SFM Community Outreach and Volunteer Programs.
· Work closely with colleagues in all departments to best meet the needs of residents and the SFM mission.
· Direct and maintain programs and services in compliance with ALF Regulations and a philosophy of continuous quality improvement.
· Promote a positive work environment.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Must have knowledge of principles and techniques of individual and group activities and programming in a long-term care environment. Comprehensive understanding of working with the elderly and disabled in a long-term care facility. Skilled in assessing strengths and needs of resident population for recreational interests, and social stimulation. Advanced interpersonal skills to effectively work with residents, families, team members, health care professionals, regulatory agencies, volunteers, and others, and to provide staff with appropriate direction. Ability to organize, plan and prioritize work; make decisions and solve problems; and resolve conflict through use of facility policies and procedures. Able to proficiently plan and implement activity and recreational programs, and to function effectively, react calmly, and confidently in emergency situations and a highly interactive environment. Able to work independently and accomplish program objectives. Skilled with computer software: Microsoft Word, Excel and Publisher, or be willing to obtain such skills. Have a good driving record and demonstrate safe driving skills. Able maintain regular attendance.
Work Environment: Primarily work indoors but some outdoor activities are required. Primarily work weekdays but will also provide activities in the evening and on weekends. Required to drive and travel for work purposes. Must maintain and unrestricted driver’s license, good driving record and current First Aid, CPR & AED certifications. Must have annual TB screening.
