Description

The Hospitality support role is an as-needed position that may include back of house, front of house, catering, concessions or other hospitality-related responsibilities. These may include weekend or evening events or support for an impacted time on campus. There is no ongoing work commitment for this position and does not include benefits.

Specific responsibilities may include:

• Cleaning food preparation areas as required by law and school policies
• Preparing food to the specifications of the students and educators
• Making adjustments to food prep items to accommodate the students and educators with allergies or specific diet concerns
• Seasoning food according to recipes
• Operating various kitchen equipment, such as slicer, oven, grill, mixer, etc.
• Cleaning and sanitizing stations
• Following all safety and health guidelines for food handling and kitchen cleaning

Suitable candidate should have a minimum of two years experience at a restaurant or food service company.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Work requires visual acuity
• Must be able to focus on highly detailed tasks for long periods of time
• Able to stand for long periods of time
• The ability to lift 25 pounds
• Ability to sustain long period of repetitive movement
• Possess the skills necessary to maintain and use kitchen machines safely and efficiently.
• Basic computational skills, organizational skills, verbal communication, culinary arts skills, kitchen equipment knowledge, butchering, knowledge of international cuisines, creativity, interpersonal skills, some culinary arts training.
