Saint Francis Health System is Hiring a Remote Manager, Finance: Corporate Tax, Treasury & Financial Reporting (NOT Remote)

Full Time 8:00a - 4:30p
Hours: Monday - Friday | 8:00am - 4:30pm
This position reports to the Senior Director of Financial Reporting and is responsible for the preparation of annual tax returns, including but not limited to federal, state, property, franchise, and excise. The position is the primary liaison with the external auditors and is responsible for financial reports used internally and by third parties.
Job Summary: Responsible for managing the financial reporting function of SFHS and affiliates by supervising the day to day activities of financial accounting staff. Responsibilities could also include the cash management, accounts payable, fixed assets, general ledger, budget, and payroll functions of SFHS and affiliates, as assigned. Observes and adheres to generally accepted accounting principles and ensures the accurate reporting of accounting data and its analysis. Assists in the development and implementation of new initiatives.

Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting or closely related business field, or equivalent education.

Licensure, Registration and/or Certification: None required. CPA preferred.

Work Experience: 5 - 7 years related experience inclusive of supervisory experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to work in a complex financial system. Ability to work with PC based spreadsheets.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Reviews financial statements for several entities monthly for accuracy and reasonableness. Using judgment, evaluates financial statements for appropriateness, making recommendations to operations for improvements or changes. Participates in the budget process for same areas of concentration. Supervises accurate and timely preparation of journal entries, check requests, bank reconciliations, and balance sheet account reconciliations; ensuring resolution of discrepancies and evaluating internal controls and adequacy of processes during review. Supervises cash management process working closely with Patient Account services to offer assistance in building processes and technology. Coordinates interfaces into general ledger assuring proper posting and reporting of activity. Participates in preparation and coordination of yearly audit; preparing required workpapers and assisting audit staff upon request with the expected outcome of zero audit entries proposed and minimal recommendations from external auditors. Preparation of tax returns or information required for assigned entities, including franchise, and personal property renditions. Selects, trains, and evaluates employees for assigned responsibilities and organize workflow daily for direct reports, covering multiple areas of talent. Maintains and evaluates accounting systems and procedures. Continuously looks for improvements to implement. Provides support to Financial Services Director and VP as needed. Works with staff and managers from other departments to answer inquiries and provide financial information to them as needed, including budget requirements. Responds to requests for special financial, budget, and statistical information for SFHS. Assists with special projects as assigned. Coordinates the preparation and compilation of the annual capital budget and is responsible for the associated project, property, and equipment accounting throughout the year. Performs analysis and reports consistent with the above. Coordinates annual physical inventory of fixed assets.

Decision Making: Independent judgment in making decisions from many diversified alternatives that are subject to general review in final stages only.

Works with internal customers via telephone or face to face interaction. Works with external customers via telephone or face to face interaction. Works with other healthcare professionals and staff. Works frequently with individuals at Director level or above.
