We are seeking a skilled and dedicated EKG Technician to join our healthcare team. Responsibilities:
- Perform electrocardiograms (EKGs) on patients to measure and record their heart activity
- Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process and ensuring their comfort
- Apply electrodes to the patient's chest, arms, and legs to obtain accurate readings
- Operate EKG equipment and monitor the patient's heart rhythm during the procedure
- Recognize any abnormalities or irregularities in the EKG readings and report them to the healthcare team
- Assist with cardiac catheterization procedures as needed
- Maintain accurate records of patient information and test results
- Follow proper aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety and prevent infection
- Monitor vital signs of patients during procedures
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited EKG Technician program preferred
- Certification as an EKG Technician is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
- Proficiency in operating EKG equipment and interpreting readings accurately
- Experience with cardiac catheterization procedures is a plus
